Jews don't hate on Muslims or Christians, or pen manifestos to annihilate them. But Jews have often set aside their identity and even need for survival to please others. Now that takes the form of being "acceptable Jews" willing to condone antisemitic slurs and even violence. As so many are saying or implying now: Jews deserve what is coming there way.
Glorious picture of a very long rabbit hole, I love it! Julie, thank you for your witness about Israel. It is so helpful to me. I agree with you and your tone of "voice" is so reasonable and clear. I just really appreciate you writing this piece.
Thanks, Wendy! I really appreciate that. I am told that I can't send in a piece that's already published, even in one's own newsletter. I am writing another piece that builds on this one, which I plan to submit for publication.
Thanks, Nancy! It's a little scary to put out my viewpoints in such a charged atmosphere, and I've been encouraged by the positive response. Quite a few others also wrote me directly. As you know, it's good when folks connect with one's words.
Juliana, I appreciate how you've leaned into the many facets of who you as you work to improve and make sense of this world we live in. And I love this reminder: "Religion is supposed to serve as guidance for living well in and with the world." Hugs ~ Jan
Thanks, Jan! Yes, I feel like I am always grasping for different ways to make sense of so much that seems unintelligible in our world...and maybe add a little bit of sense here and there!

thank you Julie--I have been musing too and have found there's little clarity on the issues, the history and a productive way forward
I know, Michele. A lot of us are struggling with this. And those that aren't, should be! Hopefully we'll be finding more clarity.

Thanks, Beth!! That means a lot to me!!
Julie, Thank you for your courageous and clear article. I wish you could send it to the Washington Post where more people will read it!
Love, Wendy

Thanks for sharing. So much trauma everywhere. The time to take care of each other (and our earth) is now.
Totally, Carla! And writing stories about people seeking to do that is a great way of caring for Earth and for each other.

Thanks for this thoughtful piece- and best of luck with the draft!
Thanks, Carrie! Balancing fiction and nonfiction and activism is an interesting challenge.
